Spokane, WA – November 14, 2024 – Spokane Workforce Council (SWC) is proud to announce the awarding of $150,000 in grants to seventeen new and emerging BIPOC-owned small businesses across Spokane County. These businesses, all less than two years old, represent the innovative and diverse entrepreneurial spirit in the region. This funding, provided by the Washington State Department of Commerce’s Community Reinvestment Plan, is aimed at strengthening local economies and fostering equity.

The 17 businesses receiving grants are:

  5. PNW CONTENT CREATOR
  6. River City Aerials & Film LLC
  7. Spokane Afro Vibes Entertainment LLC
  8. Ropar Cleaning Services
  9. Ray’s Firewood
  10. Innovation Cars LLC
  11. Elevation Boats LLC
  12. DOEZWEB
  13. MV Home Repair and Landscaping
  14. BEAUTY KULTURE LLC
  15. Happily Ever Urban Apparel
  16. Primetime Enterprise LLC
  17. PURE BEAUTY LLC

These businesses span a range of industries, including construction, entertainment, and technology, showcasing the rich diversity of Spokane County’s entrepreneurial community. The funding will help these small businesses grow, create jobs, and contribute to the long-term economic vitality of the region.

Bianka DeSure, Program Coordinator at the Spokane Workforce Council, spoke on the importance of this investment, stating, “Awarding this funding to new businesses in Spokane reaffirms the SWC’s commitment to fostering economic vitality and building a more inclusive and resilient local economy. These entrepreneurs represent the future of Spokane County, and we are proud to stand alongside them as they grow and thrive.”

The SWC’s initiative aligns with the broader goals of the Community Reinvestment Plan by addressing historical inequities and ensuring that BIPOC communities have access to the resources necessary to succeed in the business world. In addition to financial support, the program provides technical assistance and networking opportunities to help these businesses achieve long-term success.
