Spokane, WA – The Spokane Workforce Council (SWC) is announcing that services are available across the WorkSource Spokane Campus to assist Unemployment Insurance (UI) recipients in completing the requirements of three weekly job search activities to remain eligible for benefits.
As a part of the state’s emergency COVID-19 rules, the job search requirement has been suspended during the Pandemic. However, Washington State Employment Security Department (ESD) announced on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, that the waiver of this requirement will be ending in the State of Washington on Saturday, July 3, 2021.
Effective the week of July 4-10, UI recipients are required to participate in a minimum of three approved job search activities and submit their official ESD Job Log starting the week of July 11 to maintain weekly UI payments.
The approved job search activities list can be found here.
The WorkSource Spokane Campus is open and available to assist job seekers virtually and in-person to explore their next career opportunity and meet the UI activity requirements. Area businesses in need of recruitment assistance can also receive support through a variety of events and personalized recruitment resources to fill their talent gaps.
Please visit each center’s website or call ahead to learn about the availability of hours, walk-in services, in-person appointments, and the mandatory safety procedures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We are proud to do our part to help Spokane reopen safely.
