For Immediate Release: Spokane, WA – September 28, 2026 – Job seekers are invited to the Access Spokane Job and Resource Fair on Wednesday, October 14, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at CenterPlace Regional Event Center, 2426 N. Discovery Place, in Spokane Valley. Hosted by Spokane Workforce Council in partnership with Spokane County, the annual event is held in celebration of National Disability Employment Awareness Month. It is free and open to the public.

Access Spokane connects job seekers with disabilities to local employers who are hiring. Attendees can meet employers face to face, learn about open positions, ask about workplace accommodations, and more. Resource providers will also be on site to share services available in the community. Many participating employers offer part-time schedules and flexible roles.

More than 45 employers and resource providers are registered for this year’s event. Employers include Avista, Sherwin-Williams, Spokane Colleges, the City of Spokane’s Spokane United 911 Network, Wagstaff, YMCA of the Inland Northwest, Boys & Girls Club of Spokane County, and Walker’s Furniture, among others. Open roles span many industries. A few are: skilled trades, manufacturing, health care, public safety, education, retail, and customer service.

Resource providers include the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, the Washington State Department of Services for the Blind, Spokane Transit, Job Corps, The Arc of Spokane, and many more.

Attendees can also join free workshops in Room 110 throughout the afternoon: Building Effective Resumes at 1:30 p.m., Interview Techniques at 2:15 p.m., and Navigating Employment with SSI Benefits at 3:00 p.m. ASL interpretation will be available, along with translation services in Spanish, Marshallese, Farsi, Dari, Ukrainian, and Russian, plus digital translation services.

Booth registration for employers and resource providers is now closed.

Access Spokane is Spokane Workforce Council’s local observance of National Disability Employment Awareness Month. The month is led by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy. It is observed each October to recognize the contributions of workers with disabilities and raise awareness of disability employment. This year marks the 81st observance, with the theme “Celebrating Value and Talent.”

Spokane County is the event sponsor for Access Spokane. Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest is the Refresh & Recharge sponsor, providing water stations for attendees throughout the fair. Thank you to these partners for their continued support and commitment to serving our community.
