Expanded Apprenticeship Offerings

New Resources

We have been working to expand access to resources for both career seekers and businesses who may be interested in registered apprenticeship. Dani Kaschmitter, our Apprenticeship Coordinator, can assist businesses with developing or expanding their own registered apprenticeship programs. We have also pursued grant funding and partnerships that enables Career Specialists at WorkSource to connect customers with pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship trainings. In November of 2019, we launched a new all-inclusive website for local apprenticeships, ApprenticeshipSpokane.com.

CareerExploreNW Video

The SWC sponsored an apprenticeship video for the CareerExploreNW project with KSPS to introduce young people to the concept of apprenticeship as a valid post-secondary training option. Watch the video to learn more!

Case Study: Providence

As a part of the Career Connect Washington grant, we partnered with Providence Health Care to match young adults to Medical Assistant Apprenticeship opportunities. This partnership between workforce development and business illuminated healthcare career pathways for young people, helping to increase the number of candidates available to enter the program and meeting critical healthcare workforce needs. Watch the video to see success stories from the partnership!
