I’m very pleased with the potential candidates that I’ve met today, and I already have one interview scheduled later in the week, with six more I’m sure my department managers would agree are solid candidates for our current openings.

We love this event….it has allowed our company to be more visible to persons that identify with having a disability and the support we can provide in connecting them to gainful employment.

I wanted to practice my professional pitch and really make a great impression…The staff at WorkSource Spokane encouraged me to customize my pitch with different employers, but maintain my personality in the delivery.

NEXT GEN JOB FAIR

We introduced the Next Gen Job Fair in 2016 as an event focused on helping teens and young adults connect with employers for their first job. We partnered with the Next Generation Zone and the Spokane Transit Authority to host this annual event for four years.

The event was intentionally held in the late Winter months as a way to prepare teens and young adults for Summer employment, we have not offered the hiring event in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19 safety restrictions.

We are exploring potentially smaller-scale, more targeted hiring events for this demographic going forward.
